  What Did You Actually Do At Meetings?

  I tried to take notes so I would stay focused but I just couldn't. I took a lot of bathroom breaks and offered to take care of babies so that parents could get something out of the meetings...

  perhaps this is naive of me-

  so about a month ago, i finally "confessed" to my jw friend that my husband and i haven't been to a meeting since february.

  we're in different halls, so she wasn't aware of our inactivity.

  when i told her, i didn't explain any details about what lead us to stop going, other than the normal "we're confused- so much going on, new baby, etc" stuff.

  Sorry for your pain younglove1999!

  I experienced a similar situation. I was really discouraged and missing a lot of meetings. My "best" friends just abandoned me and started telling my other friends that I was bad association. The part that really irked me was that when they all went through difficult times, I was always there for them and never abandoned them. Then when I needed them the most they were no where to be found.

  My words of advise to you is to let them know you aren't impressed by their behavior. Although it sounds like it won't make a difference in your decision. However, this helps you to understand the way the org. really works and will help strenghthen your resolve that you are making the right decision. It does get better, I promise!!

  Are all Elders real estate agents?

  in my congo all the elders and ministerial servants were real estate agents.

  is that odd?

  Most were either window cleaners or had a bunch of cleaning jobs. One owned a company of some sort and did cleaning on the side. Another worked in a warehouse.

  whilst a jw, one thing that was evident to me was the constant gossip and backbiting.....being nice to someones face and then talking about them behind there backs.were you ever a "victim" of this sort of behaviour???

  is it as common as i suspect from cong.

  I was constantly!! 99% of it was not even true!! The elders families are the worst.

  Coffee time?

  when you used to go out in service (or if you still do) what was the coffee time?

  that's the time that you usually look at your watch and say "oh hey let's go for coffee then do a few more!

  Usually around 11:00 was coffee time. I remember that is all I looked forward to!!!

  I have seen prayers read at district convention!

  yes, i like to gaze around during prayers, especially big ones.

  twice now i have seen the chairman or concluding speaker finish the song, approach the speaker stand, say "let's approach god in prayer," and at the last second pull out a index card size of paper with writing on it.

  he kind of cups his hand over as he lays in on top of the song book.

  My Pioneer mother wants me (DFed) to fix her computer... HA!!!

  when i call my mother she says she can't talk to me because i am dfed.. i asked her to help me and my pregnant wife move and she said "i don't think i can do that"... whos not allowing her to do it?.

  she always calls me if her car or her computer breaks.. she called me today because her computer broke.

  so.... i turned the tables on her.

  i posted my pic.

  (well part of it at least (am a bit shy still...) because i am not scared to be found out anymore.

  mind you i've been df'ed for nearly a year now but still had hope 'friends' would remember we were like family and realize they couldn't possibly live the rest of their lives without talking to me again....ha!
